The Hot Mic: Dave Chappelle on SNL and an Electric Christian Bale Scoop, Plus Last Week’s Episode

On today’s episode of The Hot Mic with Jeff and John, presented by Above the Line, hosts Jeff Sneider and John Rocha discuss Dave Chappelle‘s controversial monologue on last week’s Saturday Night Live and the Blumhouse-Atomic Monster merger, as well as Walter Hamada‘s new gig at Paramount and the varied reactions to the studio’s big awards contender Babylon.

Jeff and John also break some Christian Bale news, as the Oscar-winning actor is being eyed to play Pete Seeger in James Mangold‘s Bob Dylan biopic Going Electric, which is slated to star Timothée Chalamet. Bale previously starred in Mangold’s 3:10 to Yuma and Ford vs. Ferrari, so it’s not too surprising that the director is again looking in his direction.

The guys also discuss the rumor that The White Tiger will appear in the new Daredevil series (and possibly be played by Jenna Ortega), as well as the news that Stranger Things sensation Joseph Quinn is joining A Quiet Place: Day One, while Cailee Spaeny (Mare of Easttown) has landed the lead in Alien: Romulus.

Above the Line is the new home of The Hot Mic podcast, which you can watch below and also find on John Rocha’s YouTube channel as well as all major podcast platforms. Follow the guys on Twitter and Instagram at @TheInSneider and @TheRochaSays and come back next Thursday for more heat from The Hot Mic!

And here’s last week’s episode, just in case you missed it. The guys discussed Tom Holland‘s new Spider-Man deal, Keanu Reeves‘ return as John Wick in Ballerina, Sylvester Stallone‘s new streaming series Tulsa King, and plot details for the upcoming Indiana Jones series on Disney+.
